CASE STUDY / Conversion Signs
Taco Cabana needed help upgrading signs for branding, consistency, and energy savings. Due to the short lifespan and low lumen maintenance of fluorescent sign lighting, a significant number of fluorescent bulbs had dimmed and became incapable of properly lighting the exterior signage after 2-3 years.
SigncoAmerica completed a comprehensive retrofit program that allowed upgrades to signs in over 50 Taco Cabana locations. These retrofits resulted in the replacement of fluorescent-lit signs with worry-free LED lighting. The upgrade of signage to LED lighting resulted in a 30% lower electric costs due to LED lighting’s lower amperage requirement and the incorporation of photocells and timeclock switches. A 25% lower maintenance cost was realized from the elimination of service calls to replace bulbs, ballasts, and wiring used in fluorescent lighting.
Further results included a greatly improved luminosity on all exterior signage, resulting in more attractive stores. SigncoAmerica partnered with Taco Cabana’s parent company to work inside the existing facilities maintenance software system to allow store managers to effortlessly call for service or maintenance on signs and receive a rapid response. Due to client satisfaction, SigncoAmerica was also chosen to handle new construction to support Taco Cabana’s expansion throughout Texas.
